Submitted by stacey.holmes on

We will be spotlighting a Student of the Week from each classroom. These students receive a certificate and prize from Mrs. Peery with the chance to be drawn out at the end of each month for a special activity with the Principal. The focus for the month of December is "Honesty".  The students are selected by their teachers as they see their students show honesty here at school.  Here are the Students of the Week for December 4.

Thanksgiving Feast

Submitted by stacey.holmes on

Ms. Akin's class had a Thanksgiving feast last Tuesday.  We made Native American headbands and Pilgrim hats, and ate a small meal together. The feast included the students setting the tables, practicing table manners and teaching our parents how to have proper manners, and eating pumpkin pie and other small treats. It was fun for both the students and parents who came!

Ms. Blaisdell is a 3rd grade teacher at Mapleton Elementary.  She enjoys watching BYU sports, hanging out with family and friends, and reading.  Her favorite Children’s book is “Chrysanthemum” by Kevin Henkes.  She has three brothers and one sister that are married.  She has 14 nieces and nephews and a wonderful Mom and Dad.  Her favorite vacation was to Boise, Idaho, and she would love to go to Harry Potter World.  Upon being asked about her favorite part of working at the school her response was that she likes the kids and the people she works with.
