Pumpkins Donated to Mapleton Elementary
We would like to thank Harward Farms for the pumpkins they donated to all of the students at Mapleton Elementary. These pumpkins are used throughout the week to do many learning activities here at school.

Just a reminder that we will have our Halloween Parade, this Friday, Oct. 30th at 9:30 a.m. The students will move through classrooms inside before heading into the auditorium and then outside. We encourage parents who are attending to line up around the edges of the auditorium or preferably outside on the grass along the blacktop on the west side of the school. We can't wait to see all the fun costumes!
Mrs. Harward came to tell our class about her experiences in Egypt so we could compare it to Ancient Egypt. Some of the students were able to wear Egyptian clothing.
Mrs. Snyder's class made paper mache' pumpkins that have brightened our hallway. Thanks for making our school festive for Fall.
We will be spotlighting a Student of the Week from each classroom. These students receive a certificate and prize from Mrs. Peery with the chance to be drawn out at the end of each month for a special activity with the Principal. The focus for the month of October is "Respect". The students are selected by their teachers as they see their students show respect here at school. Here are the Students of the Week for October 14.

Students from Mapleton Elementary that read 280 minutes during our Read-a-thon week, were invited to a late night at the library. Our PTA made it well worth their reading effort! We had a magician, a story teller, and a juggler that entertained everyone, a reptile guy that brought many fun reptiles, including a very long yellow snake that took 4 teachers/PTA to hold. We are so happy with all of the reading that the students did during the week! Keep it up!
What does a principal do if together the students read over 100,000 minutes in one week? Why KISS A PIG of course! That's what happened today to open the Red Ribbon Week assembly. Mrs. Peery donned fresh lipstick and puckered up. Luckily the pig was cute and friendly!
