A Gift of Pumpkins

Submitted by stacey.holmes on

Once again this year Mapleton Elementary students were surprised with the gift of a pumpkin from Harward Farms. Each student was presented with their very own pumpkin. Students returned to their classrooms to think of as many activities as possible to use their pumpkins. Some of the activities were learning about how pumpkins grow, graphing pumpkins,  estimating to find how many seeds were inside their pumpkins,  pumpkin carving and writing about pumpkins.

Halloween

This year was Mapleton Elementary School's Second Halloween Parade.  Faculty, students and Parents alike were in their finest form. Everyone seems to have caught the Halloween spirit with their Grade Level Teams, office Staff and specialists here at our school certainly went the extra mile. The parade wound around the school, in and out of the classrooms with a special trip through the auditorium where many family members and friends waited patiently to see the vast assortment of costumes.

Fall Extravaganza & Walk-a-thon

Submitted by stacey.holmes on

We had a great Walk-a-thon and Fall Extravaganza this year.  Thanks to everyone for their support. Students did a great job walking and getting donations. We always succeed when everyone pitches in and helps.  We had a great turn out with games, slides, hay ride and petting zoo not to mention an awesome "Spook Alley"! Everyone lined up for a turn to be scared. Thanks to the volunteers who created an excellent experience for everyone to enjoy!  Here are a few pictures of the fun and celebration!
