Last night our combined Mapleton and HobbleCreek orchestras had their spring concert held at HobbleCreek Elementary. The students played a broad range of musical numbers from classical to folk to international. The students have grown so much from the first of the year and last night they shined. Thanks to Jessica Knight for her time, dedication and talents as the orchestra director at both schools.

This year at Mapleton Elementary we will be spotlighting a Student of the Week from each classroom. These students receive a certificate and prize from Mrs. Peery with the chance to be drawn out at the end of each month for "Pizza with the Principal." The focus for the month of May is "Doing Your Best".  The students are selected by their teachers as they see them doing their best at school.  Here are the Students of the Week for May 8.

4th grade Pioneer Program

The 4th grade students at Mapleton were able to step back in time this week at their Pioneer Program. They sang several songs depicting the history of Utah through the years and ended with square dancing to "Johnnie O" and the "Virginia Reel." Some students even brought their parents out onto the dance floor to join in the fun.
