First Grade students at Mapleton Elementary School recently celebrated Dr. Seuss Day. There are four First Grade classes this year including, Mrs. Shannon Abbott, Mrs. Kristin Holmes, Mrs. Ginnie Snyder and Miss Jeri Thompson.
Teachers all dressed up as the "Cat in the Hat", and students chose their favorite Dr. Seuss characters. The morning began with a Parade through the Second Grade classes, followed by a special story telling activity featuring their teachers reading their favorite books to the students. Students were then treated to a snack of chocolate milk and doughnut holes. Pictured here are the students grouped by the costumes they wore such as Thing one and thing two, Cindy Lou Who and Cats in the Hat.
In the afternoon they were again treated to the National Honor Society students reading their favorite Dr. Seuss Books. Pictured here are Mandi and Jessica Mansfield reading to students. Everyone had a great day!
