Crystal Apple Award to Ms. Blaisdell

Ms. Blaisdell was selected by the faculty at Mapleton Elementary as the recipent of the Horace Mann Crystal Apple Award. This is such an honor because she is nominated and selected by her peers who recognize her outstanding teaching and hard work. Ms. Blaisdell spents countless hours on behalf of her students and also on behalf of the teachers at the school, especially regarding help with technology. She is very much appreciated! Congrats Ms. Blaisdell!

Waiting for Hope of America to begin

The fifth graders have been working hard for the past few months learning the songs and actions for their participation in Hope of America. This is a patriotic program involving thousands of students from Utah County honoring America and our military servicemen and women. Here the students are waiting with excitement for the program to begin.

Mrs. Sandberg received regional PTA award

Mrs. Sandberg was recently selected and awarded the PTA Region Golden Apple Outstanding Educator award. She was honored at a luncheon in March at the Nebo District Office. The award was given out of appreciation for all of the sacrifices she has made for children in our community. This photo includes Mrs. Sandberg and Mr. Nielsen, Nebo District Superintendent. Congratulations Mrs. Sandberg!

Student of the Week/Problem Solving

This year at Mapleton Elementary we will be spotlighting a Student of the Week from each classroom. These students receive a certificate and prize from Mrs. Peery with the chance to be drawn out at the end of each month for "Pizza with the Principal." The focus for the month of March is "Problem Solving".  The students are selected by their teachers as they show problem solving skills at school.  Here are the Students of the Week for March 23-27.

Kindy 500

The Kindergarteners at Mapleton Elementary celebrated the Kindy 500 on Thursday, March 26.  They started off the day with a parade around the school driving their newly made kindy cars, etc.  Then they had the opportunity to break into small groups to travel around America and learn about our Country.  They were able to visit Mt. Rushmore, The White House, Lincoln Memorial, and the Statue of Liberty to name a few.

District Debate

Many students from Mapleton Elementary were in the District Debate competition held at Hobble Creek Elementary on Tuesday, March 2.  We appreciate all of the students hard work to prepare for this debate, and we want to thank Mrs. Day for helping these students learn and prepare for the debate.

6th Grade Ice Skating

The sixth grade has been working really hard and needed a fun day off on the ice.  They were able to go to the Peaks arena in Provo  as a reward for all of their hard work.

Remote Operational Vehicle Competition

Students at Mapleton Elementary compted in a Remote Operational Vehicle competition.  These students have been involed in our Technology Club, an after school program.  We would like to congratulate our students on their hard work preparing their vehicles for this competition.
