Scholastic Book Fair

We are excited to have the Scholastic Book Fair going on this week. It will be open Tuesday - Friday and during both evenings of parent conferences. The money that comes to the school from the book fair fundraiser helps buy books and other supplies that teachers need to enhance instruction in their classrooms. 

America Freedom Festival

The theme for the 2016-2017 Freedom Festival in Provo is:  FREEDOM.  You will find more information to enter the contests at www.freedomfestival.org.  The deadline to enter is Monday, November 14, 2016.

Learning with Pumpkins

Mrs. Hansen's 6th grade class were wondering if the size of pumpkin determined the amount of seeds. They calculated the volume and then counted the seeds. Turns out, the two aren't related at all.

Just Jumpin Club Assembly

Intermountain Healthcare Just Jumpin club came and presented an assembly for our school. They emphasized a healthy heart and active lifestyle, while showing us their amazing skills. Even students and teachers were able to join in and show their moves as well.

Technology and Engineering Club

"Our afterschool technology and engineering club designed magnetic vehicles and raced them on our mag tracks. They learned all about force, motion, magnetism and more. We appreciate BYU engineering students for hosting our afterschool program."

Donated Pumpkins

We are so grateful to the Harwards, from Harward Farms, that donate a pumpking to each student every year.  They do many fun learning activities with these pumpkins before they take them home.

Thanksgiving Point Visits Third Grade

The third grade students had an amazing opportunity provided by Thanksgiving Point.  Students were able to observe and discuss the life cycle of a mealworm.  Each class created a classroom terrarium.  Every student was able to dissect a tulip bulb and learn all about tulips.  Then, each third grade student was able to plant his or her very own tulip bulb at our new tulip test garden.  We are excited to be a participating school in the Tulips Journey North Program.  We are looking forward to tracking the progress of our tulips in our role as citizen scient
