Cowboy Poetry Assembly

Yee haw! These city-slickers were treated to a good old fashion cowboy poetry assembly. They were taken back to the wild west as they watched roping tricks and listened to good ole' cowboy poetry. What fun!

Ballet West visited us today and put on a great assembly! They showed what a typical warm up looks like, had students come up and try some turns and leaps, and then did a shortened version of the Nutcracker.

Drivers start your engines! The Kindy 500 was full of adventures. They visited famous landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Liberty Bell, and the Lincoln Memorial. All the kindergarten students arrived in style! The Mapleton City Police were here to issue tickets just in case! What a great learning opportunity for the students.

Big Budah Visit

Submitted by robyn.young on

Mapleton Elementary students won the Road to Success Dr. Seuss Read-on-thon and were rewarded with a visit from Big Budah with Fox13News.  Our students read a total of 308,500 minutes during that one week, more than any other elementary school in Utah! Mrs. Jensen's second grade class had the most minutes for grades K-3 and Mr. Groneman's fifth grade class read the most for grades 4-6, earning them a spot on the stage with Big Buddah. We are so proud of all the reading that the students did. Thank you for all the encouragement and support at home!
