Mapleton Elementary was well represented at the BYU Invention Convention. We had there Mapleton Mountaineers compete: Lucy Wright and Scout Chase (not pictured) who won 2nd place overall with their project, and Caleb Woolford, who won 3rd place overall. Congratulations!!!
These students were selected by their teacher as Students of the Month for March. They have been great examples of Mapleton Mountaineers by being safe, respectful and responsible. We appreciate all of our students who are climbing higher every day!
Yee haw! These city-slickers were treated to a good old fashion cowboy poetry assembly. They were taken back to the wild west as they watched roping tricks and listened to good ole' cowboy poetry. What fun!
Did you know that they do more than read in library? It's a great time for science experiments! Our students had a blast learning more about science and were quite the little scientists.
Ballet West visited us today and put on a great assembly! They showed what a typical warm up looks like, had students come up and try some turns and leaps, and then did a shortened version of the Nutcracker.
Did you know that at Mapleton Elementary we care about conserving energy and due to superior energy performance, we were just awarded the Energy STAR award? That means we used 35% less energy and generated 35% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than similar buildings throughout the state. Way to go employees!
For the 2018 season, Lagoon will be introducing the “Summer Fever Fundraiser." We are hoping to seize the excitement for summer by giving students and families a jump start on summer fun at Lagoon. The Summer Fever Fundraiser will offer an exclusive discount to Utah school families, and the Education Foundations will reap the benefits. Details in image.
Drivers start your engines! The Kindy 500 was full of adventures. They visited famous landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Liberty Bell, and the Lincoln Memorial. All the kindergarten students arrived in style! The Mapleton City Police were here to issue tickets just in case! What a great learning opportunity for the students.
Mapleton Elementary students won the Road to Success Dr. Seuss Read-on-thon and were rewarded with a visit from Big Budah with Fox13News. Our students read a total of 308,500 minutes during that one week, more than any other elementary school in Utah! Mrs. Jensen's second grade class had the most minutes for grades K-3 and Mr. Groneman's fifth grade class read the most for grades 4-6, earning them a spot on the stage with Big Buddah. We are so proud of all the reading that the students did. Thank you for all the encouragement and support at home!
