We held our End of Term activity, and it was a HUGE success. Thank you to Zac Bramble for bringing the Hot Air Balloon and his awesome crew  for giving our teachers a fun ride, as well as teaching us some super fun facts about Hot Air Balloons.  The kids loved watching it and even got an "air dropped" treat from above. We talked about "rising" above challenges as part of our focus on resilience this year.

Fun Facts about Hot Air Balloons:

*Hot Air Balloons were around and flying about 19 years before the Wright Brothers flew the airplane.

*"Pie Balls" are what they put in the air to see which direction the wind is blowing so they know if it's too windy, and where they will end up.

* It would take close to 154,000 kickballs to fill the entire hot air balloon

* The drivers of the balloon wear gloves, but not because it's hot. It's because the gas is -44 degrees and it would freeze their hands if they didn't.
