Disney Day for Miss Russells class

Submitted by julie.knight on

Miss Russell's class had a fun day taking a virtual field trip to Disney World! They were able to learn about the history of Walt Disney, the parks, and the engineering behind the rides! We had a photobooth and took pictures with our favorite characters. At the end of the day, we enjoyed the fireworks show to finish up our festivities. We even have the access cards to the Scare Floor to prove we went to Monsters Inc!

PTA Service Awards

Submitted by julie.peery on

Our PTA Service awards went to two amazing members of our PTA who have given countless hours of service to Mapleton Elementary. Jana Davis and Kara Woodworth have both served as PTA officers for multiple years and care deeply about the needs of our students and teachers. They were recently honored at the Sprinville/Mapleton Area PTA meeting and recognized for their contributions. Thanks Jana and Kara!

"It takes a village..."

Submitted by julie.peery on

Fifth graders from Miss Thompson's class worked hard as teams to create a "volume village" on a coordinate plane. From the design of the buildings to the GPS coordinates to get around "town", the students made it all happen. Way to go with real-life problem solving and being team players!
