Honoring our Veterans

Submitted by julie.peery on

Mapleton students each came to school this week with a Veteran's name...either a relative, friend or someone they researched and respect. Those names were put together to create this flag in their honor. It is a beautiful reminder of our gratitude for their service and sacrifice. Thank you Veterans!

*Hey Teacher, did you know I am sensitive of Windy Days?"

* After doing a short excercise activity: "This makes me need to go poop"

* Phonics sentence for the day: "Hot dogs are good to eat."                                                               Kinder child : "Actually, they're not. "

End of Term Reward Activity ~ Hot Air Balloon

Submitted by julie.knight on

We held our End of Term activity, and it was a HUGE success. Thank you to Zac Bramble for bringing the Hot Air Balloon and his awesome crew  for giving our teachers a fun ride, as well as teaching us some super fun facts about Hot Air Balloons.  The kids loved watching it and even got an "air dropped" treat from above. We talked about "rising" above challenges as part of our focus on resilience this year.

Fun Facts about Hot Air Balloons:

*Hot Air Balloons were around and flying about 19 years before the Wright Brothers flew the airplane.
