Charlotte's Web

Pictured here are a some of the first grade students, cast and puppets after the performance.

First Grade students at Mapleton Elementary School had a delightful experience at the new U.V.U. Noorda Theatre Center for Children and Youth. Students at Mapleton  were the first school to attend an adaptation of "Charlotte’s Web. They were treated to live music, characters and amazing hand crafted puppets which represented the animals in the story. The theatre holds approximately 140 people and has stadium seating which made it easy for children to see and enjoy the performance. Students fell in love with the Charlotte's character, a puppet and puppeteer. Singing dancing and then being able to see and talk to performers after the play. Everyone enjoyed lunch on the lawn then headed home with smiles on their faces. An enjoyable experience for parents, teachers and students alike! A follow up group them came to school a few days later to teach students more about the performance.

Fall Extravaganza

Pictured here are two young ladies getting an up-do and having their faces painted.

Mapleton Elementary School celebrated it's "Fall Extravaganza" with a carnival, basket auction and dinner.

The weather was beautiful, and was well attended.  PTA did a wonderful job of organizing and running the activity. Thank you to all who attended and donated time and money to bring this event to our community.

Room mothers and classes created wonderful baskets for the auction, everything from chocolate delight to bloomin gardens. There were blow up slides and jumping games, face painting, up does and Bling Strands, as well as pizza, cotton candy and snow cones. Included in the festivities was the Provo Fire Department "Learn not to Burn" trailer which was handled by the Boy Scouts.

Our PTA is the best!! Thank you from everyone at Mapleton Elementary.

3rd grade field trip to the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival

3rd grade field trip to the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival

The four third-grade classes at Mapleton Elementary went to the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival on Friday  September 4.

They heard stories from the nationally known storytellers Heather Forest and Bill Harley.  Billy Harley told them to remember "If your teacher says line up for candy....line up!"

After enjoying the stories the students had lunch in the park.
